Bethel / Lincoln / Mitchell Road Closure and Detour to Commence Monday July 8th.
Road closures and detours in place at intersections until further notice for scheduled roadwork.
PORT ORCHARD, WA – The intersection of Bethel Avenue & Lincoln Avenue and the intersection of Lincoln Avenue & Mitchell Road will all be closed until further notice.
The closures and roadwork are due to an ongoing project to construct roundabouts at the aforementioned intersections. These roundabouts are projected to improve traffic safety, reduce collisions, and improve the flow of traffic in the busy corridor.
Improvements to the intersections along Bethel from Mitchell to Lincoln are being completed in phases. Phase 1 constructs a roundabout at the Lincoln & Mitchel Intersection. Phase 2 of the project completes improvements at Bethel/ Lincoln/ Lundberg intersection and the removal of the Bethel Mitchell ‘Y”.
Puget Sound Energy has been mobilizing traffic control at the intersection since mid June as PSE undergrounds power and communications utilities in advance of the roundabout construction.
There will be a detour in effect while during construction with the goal of having the road back in service before Labor Day weekend.
