Notice of Public Hearing

The Port Orchard City Council will hold a public hearing during its regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, to take testimony and comment on Emergency Interim Zoning Ordinance 015-19, which was adopted by the City Council on April 9, 2019.  This ordinance provides interim regulations in Chapter 20.39 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code for the definition, siting and development of the less restrictive alternative (“LRA”) housing facilities for sexually violent predators that are authorized by Chapter 71.09 RCW. In accordance with RCW 36.70A.390, a public hearing must be held within 60 days of adoption of an interim zoning ordinance. Following the public hearing, the City Council may direct the preparation of a permanent ordinance which will be considered at a public hearing within six months of the adoption of the interim ordinance.
