Notice of Public Hearing: Plastic Bag Reduction

The Port Orchard City Council will hold a public hearing during its regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, to take testimony and comment on a proposed new Chapter 6.20 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code, “Plastic Bag Reduction”. This chapter is intended to limit the distribution of single-use plastic carryout bags in retail establishments and to encourage the use of recyclable and reusable bags.

Any person or public agency expressing an interest is invited to attend the public hearing and/or submit written comments to the Department of Community Development on or before 4:00 PM, August 13, 2019.
