NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Port Orchard Planning Commission will hold a public hearing during its regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, to take testimony and comment on a proposed revision to the City’s adopted Zoning Map.  The revision would rezone a number of undeveloped properties in the McCormick Woods Master Plan Development from Residential – 8.0 Units/Net Useable Acre (R8) zone, to a proposed new zone of Residential MWD – 8.0 Units/Net Useable Acre (R8-MWD). The proposed revision to the Zoning Map can be viewed online at:

or at the front counter of the Department of Community Development at City Hall, 216 Prospect Street, Port Orchard.

Any person or public agency expressing an interest is invited to attend the public hearing and/or submit written comments to the Department of Community Development on or before 4:30 PM, May 2, 2017. DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE (DNS)

 

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL:            The City proposes to adopt the City’s 2017 Zoning Map with changes to the zoning designation of a number of undeveloped properties in the McCormick Woods Master Plan Development. The properties listed below by parcel number will be rezoned from Residential – 8.0 Units/Net Useable Acre (R8) to a proposed new zone of Residential MWD – 8.0 Units/Net Useable Acre (R8-MWD).

DETERMINATION:      The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). The decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request. The proposal is a non-project action per WAC 197-11-774; however, all project-level improvements will be subject to individual environmental review at the time of their application.

The DNS is issued pursuant to WAC 197-11-340(2)(a)(v); the lead agency will not act on this proposal for 15 days from the date of issue.
