Public Open House – Draft Design Standards
The City of Port Orchard, in conjunction with a citizen’s design standards advisory committee, is preparing design standards that will apply to new development and redevelopment within the city, with the exception of single-family and duplex residences. The primary goals for the design standards are to:
ensure that new development is high quality and benefits Port Orchard; upgrade the appearance and function of Port Orchard’s major transportation corridors; ensure that new development is compatible with existing neighborhoods; promote walking and bicycling in residential and commercial areas; and maintain and enhance property values. A draft of the proposed design standards is available for review at: https://www.portorchardwa.gov/regulations/, or at the front counter of the City’s Community Development Department, 720 Prospect St.
A public open house on the design standards will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 6 pm – 8 pm in the City Council Chambers, 3rd floor of City Hall, 216 Prospect Street. All interested persons are invited to attend. City staff and consultants will be available to provide information and take comments.
