The City of Port Orchard invites the public to a hearing before the Planning Commission to provide testimony and comments on the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. This hearing is an opportunity for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to voice their input on the proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission will consider all public comments and is expected to forward a recommendation to the City Council.

The City of Port Orchard held a public hearing before the Planning Commission on October 1, 2024, to open the public record for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. This event marked the beginning of a formal public comment period, providing an opportunity for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to voice their input on the proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Commission will consider all comments received during the public hearing process and will forward a recommendation to the City Council after the public comment period closes on October 29, 2024.

The City of Port Orchard is planning the future of two central neighborhoods: Bethel-Lund and Sedgwick-Bethel (located near those street intersections). Join us for an interactive workshop focused on the future development of these neighborhoods. At this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about previous recommendations and plans that influence these neighborhoods;
- Work together to identify planning priorities, issues, and opportunities;
- Build consensus on the long-term vision of the neighborhood; and
- Identify projects and improvements that will be desirable in the future
This workshop is an opportunity to engage with your neighbors and the local business community to establish a vision for the Bethel-Lund and Sedgwick-Bethel neighborhoods for the next 15-20 years. Let's work together to shape a bright future for our communities!
2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update – Draft Elements Workshop

The City of Port Orchard invites residents, business owners, and stakeholders to participate in a public workshop as part of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. This workshop provides an opportunity for the community to review and provide input on the Draft Elements of the Comprehensive Plan. The workshop will cover updates to all draft Elements, introduce the Bethel subarea plans, and discuss the City's strategies for meeting state, regional, and county regulatory requirements. Key areas of focus include land use, zoning, housing, and overall growth management for the next 20 years.

The City of Port Orchard will be holding a public meeting to provide an opportunity to review, give feedback, and revise policy language in the City’s Comprehensive Plan. This meeting is being conducted in association with the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update, which must be updated for consistency with the Washington State Growth Management Act, Puget Sound Regional Council Vision 2050, and the Kitsap County Countywide Planning Policies. New regulatory requirements for the City’s Comprehensive Plan will be discussed, along with the opportunity to provide input on what policy updates the community feels are needed, given the growth and change throughout the City since the last major Comprehensive Plan Update in 2016.
