Permit Center
Due to the increased volume of permit applications, our workload has significantly increased. We do not have a definite time frame of when permits will be ready for issuance. Plans are reviewed in the order they are received, and the plans examiners are reviewing as quickly as they can.
The Permit Center receives, processes and issues permits for Building, Fire Code, Public Works and Planning/Land Use. Should you have any questions regarding these permit types or applications, please contact the Permit Center:

Stormwater Drainage Capital Facility Charge (CFC)
On June 1, 2024, the City of Port Orchard implemented a Stormwater Drainage Capital Facilities Charge (CFC) on new development. This fee is required to be paid prior to permit issuance. Please visit the Port Orchard Public Works webpage for information:

Inspections
Inspection requests are accepted until 3:30 p.m. for next day inspections. In cases when the inspection staff is limited, it may take several days before the inspection can be scheduled.
Beginning January 2, 2024, inspection requests will no longer be accepted by calling the Permit Center or by emailing permitcenter@portorchardwa.gov. All inspections can be requested by using either of these two options:
Online Portal
Use the Online Public Portal on our website to request inspections.
To use this service, you will need to first get an Access Code assigned to you by emailing inspections@portorchardwa.gov . Further instructions for use are available on the Online Public Portal webpage.
Send your request via email to inspections@portorchardwa.gov.
To request an inspection via email, you must include the following information:
- Permit Number
- Site Address: must be specific
- Type of inspection requested
- Requested date
- Point of Contact Name and Phone Number
