Are there timed restrictions on spaces for individuals with disabilities?

Vehicles with placards with passengers that require accessible parking can park as long as needed and will not be ticketed.

General Questions

If I am not a juror and I need to park longer than 2 hours, where do I park?

There is an all day free parking lot located off of Sidney Avenue and Sweany Street. The lot is marked as ‘Courthouse Public Parking’.

I have an exempt plate. Am I exempt from the posted time restrictions?

No. The exemption is only for vehicle license fees as stated in RCW 46.16A.170

Can I park longer than the posted time restrictions if I am in Court?

Vehicles can only park longer than the time restriction if they are a juror and have a jurors pass or other special pass issued by the City of Port Orchard.


 

I bought a new car. Can I scrape the old residential parking pass off and put it on my new car?

Please contact the finance department for a new pass. The cost is $5 for a replacement and expiration date will not change.

Juror Parking

If I am called to be a juror at the Kitsap County courthouse, where do I park?

Jurors can park anywhere in the 2-hour parking zones within 2 blocks of the County courthouse, 614 Division Street, with the assigned juror pass on the dash. Come early, spaces fill quickly.

If I am called to be a juror at the City of Port Orchard Municipal Court, where do I park?

Jurors can park anywhere in the 2 or 4 hour parking zones within 2 blocks of the Municipal Court, 216 Prospect Street, with the assigned juror pass on the dash. Come early, spaces fill quickly.

What if my windows are tinted. Where do I put my residential parking permit?

Affix permit to the inside of windshield, driver’s side, bottom corner.

If I bought a new vehicle and only have temporary plates, how do I get a residential parking permit?

You are able to purchase a residential parking permit with the following documents:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Proof of residency
  • Valid identification

When your permanent license plates are received, contact the finance department at 360-876-5139 to update the records. Parking with expired temporary plates is a violation of POMC 10.12.150.

If my permit is lost or destroyed, how do I replace it?

Please contact the finance department at 360-876-5139 to replace the permit. The cost is $5.00 and it will have the same expiration date as the original permit.

If I move, is my parking permit still valid in that area?

No. Your vehicle will be subject to all time restrictions per POMC 10.12.080. If you move, please contact the finance department for a new parking permit registered to your new address.

I have multiple vehicles. How many parking permits can I get?

The maximum number of permits is limited to no more than four per residential address

 

When do parking enforcement officers work?

8:00am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays. After hours, the Port Orchard Police Department handles parking as needed.

Who do I contact if the ParkMobile App is not working?

Why was I ticketed if I have a residential pass?

Residential passes must be placed in an area that is visible from the exterior. Residential passes are only for time restrictions, they are not permission to break other parking laws.
