Bethel Lincoln roundabout detour

The week of May 27, 2024,  work began on the roundabout that is being constructed at the intersection of Mitchell Rd & Lincoln Ave.

Improvements to the intersections along Bethel form Mitchell to Lincoln are being phased.   Phase 1 constructs a RAB at the Lincoln Mitchel Intersection.  Phase 2 completes improvements at Bethel/ Lincoln/ Lundberg intersection and the removal of the Bethel Mitchell ‘Y”.   Work is being phased to reduce traffic impacts including SKSD transit operations

In preparation for this work, Puget Sound Energy will be mobilizing and starting traffic control at the intersection while PSE undergrounds power and communications in advance of the roundabout construction.

During this time Lincoln Ave  between Bethel Rd and Mitchell Rd will be closed.   The City’s contractor will start on the roundabout construction after school is out of session at SKHS, as early as June 17th.  There will be a detour in effect starting in late June with the goal of having the road back in service before Labor Day weekend.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we undertake these important infrastructure improvements to our city.
