Stormwater Rate Increase

On June 1, 2024, the City of Port Orchard will implement an increase for the stormwater utility fee. The below table shows rate increases through the year 2028. This adjustment comes as a response to the growing need for infrastructure improvements, maintenance, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Stormwater Rates charges

The decision to raise stormwater utility rates was made by factors such as aging stormwater systems, increased development, and the imperative to meet water quality standards as defined by the  National Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). The rate increase is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of stormwater management and safeguarding local water bodies.

Residents and businesses can expect to see improvements in stormwater infrastructure and a commitment to environmental stewardship because of these increased utility rates.
