Old Clifton Non-motorized Improvements
The City of Port Orchard proposes to provide a separated trail on Old Clifton Road from McCormick Woods Dr. to McCormick Communities Park and extend paved shoulders to McCormick Village Dr. Old Clifton lacks non-motorized facilities and is a barrier to pedestrians and bicyclists. The proposed project is an opportunity to connect neighborhoods trails to each other and to amenities, including the McCormick Communities Park and the planned McCormick Village neighborhood commercial center. The proposed project will leverage existing improvements to realize a network of trails that will facilitate healthier more active lifestyles and reduce reliance on motor vehicles.
A conceptual design has been developed. Environmental, survey, and geotechnical work is proceeding in 2022. The City is working to procure grants to fund construction.
